Hygge: the Danish word for cosiness and comfort.
In 2007 I moved from Bergamo, Italy, to Copenhagen, in Denmark. Since then, I’ve been chasing hygge in all possible ways. People talk a lot about la dolce vita of Italy…well…I love the dolce hygge of Denmark! Living at this latitude means having long months of winter, therefore long months for making crafts, hanging out indoors and making your place cozy. The first two years in Copenhagen I worked as a graphic printer for artists. I hand-printed etchings, photogravures and woodcuts. After that I studied for my master in cultural anthropology – and graduated at the end of 2011.
Chasing Hygge is a notebook in form of a blog. I use this space as a visual reminder of the things I like and am inspired by. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! So make yourself at home, and feel free to comment my posts.

Too funny – I love the Onion, too, and space photographs… :)

Love it! The winter months are a wonderfully cozy time here in Michigan also. My ancestry is Danish and Bodil is a cousin and I followed her link here. Nice to meet you!
Hi Becky, nice to meet you too!
