The Elegance of the Hedgehog. I literarly devoured this book by french writer (and philosophy academic) Muriel Barbery. It features Paloma, a 12-year-old girl aspiring to commit suicide before turning 13th and Renee, a 54-year-old concierge lady, living in the same block of luxury apartments in rue de Grenelle, Paris. The tone is deep and light at the same time…this book is so enjoyable to read, and leaves you (or at least me) with a joyful sensation about the essence of life, and death.
(I don’t know why I have to number so many things on the blog, when I almost always lose track of it!)
