fashion in the streets: Helsinki

When we went to Helsinki last spring, I found the link to a great blog via the Finnish tourist bureau.

It’s a fashion blog called Hel-Looks: the concept is similar to that of blogs like Sartorialist, but it’s by far my favorite!  It’s a real celebration of personal style, so refreshing.

Hel Looks features selected street styles in Helsinki. All the people photographed say something about what they wear, their sources of inspiration, where they find their clothes…These are some of my favorite photos: click on them to be redirected to the original posts on Hel Looks.

Hel Looks is a project of Liisa Jokinen and Sampo Karjalainen.

And if you are curious to see what trendy people wear here in Copenhagen, go to Copenhagen Street Style. A lot more “conservative”…

Speaking of fashion, Danish fashion designer Susanne Rutzou started The Chronicle, a new magazine feauturing art, photography, people and places (not fashion!). The magazine, according to its creators, is designed “so it is easy for the reader to tear out the pages and bring them into their own moodboards, to pin favourite images up on the wall…”

You can download the PDF version for free on her website, here.
