Hej og velkomme til min blog ⚡ Benvenuti nel mio blog.
“Hygge” is the Danish word for cosiness and comfort.
In 2007 I moved from Bergamo, Italy, to Copenhagen, Denmark. Since then, I’ve been chasing hygge in all possible ways.
Living at this latitude means having long months of winter, therefore long months for making stuff, hanging out indoors and reading. In Denmark I found the time to slow down. I learned how to use a sewing machine and went back to knitting, among other things. To that I added a newfound passion for building occasional strange things out of electrical parts – thanks to my job at a local IT university, and playing with little machines like the Raspberry Pi or bigger ones like the laser cutter. When outside is dark, windy and rainy, …well, very often is more pleasant to stay indoor. And there are no limits to which materials we can use to make things :)
Chasing Hygge is a notebook in form of a blog. I use this space as a visual reminder of the things I am inspired by and as a showcase of my own DIY projects.
I hope you enjoy the blog as much as I do! So make yourself at home, and feel free to comment my posts.
